BCCR Control Room Operator

Your Role

Based at Heathrow, the BCCR Control Room Operator will play a key role in operating the baggage systems, operations, and communications. Your goal will be to help achieve the strategic objective of safely delivering every bag for every passenger, every time. Key tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrating high awareness of safety and wellbeing, personally leading by example for others to follow.
  • Responsible for monitoring the baggage systems through various bespoke computer-controlled systems, configuring routes, inputting operational data, and reacting to changing system conditions.
  • Communicating effectively (verbal and written) with internal and external colleagues, coordinating with the relevant parties on equipment faults and expected durations to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Proactively identifying bags at risk and compiling daily reports for further analysis.
  • Assisting in training and familiarising new staff members, sharing your knowledge.
  • Developing knowledge of contingency processes, criticality of baggage equipment and supporting the BCCR team during any baggage related incidents.
  • Proactively planning and managing arrival flight allocations, using multiple information sources.
  • Analysing data to identify areas of improvement in processes and system performance.
  • Gaining a strong understanding of the controls of the baggage process, including airport and airline operational requirements.
