Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting interns to join one of our financial departments: Alternatives Accounting, Fund Accounting, Financial Reporting, Custody, Transfer Agency. While working side by side with experts you will have a chance to increase your knowledge and boost your career in finance in an international and collaborative environment.
The scope of your responsibilities will depend on the department you will join:
ALTERNATIVES ACCOUNTING provides a wide range of services to funds investing in alternative assets, including real estate, private equity, debt funds, and other alternative investment structures. Services include general ledger accounting, financial reporting, asset supervision, and comprehensive support throughout the fund lifecycle.
FUND ACCOUNTING SERVICES consists of five core teams: Cash and Audit, Central Pricing, NAV Hub, and Trades, responsible for producing daily, weekly, and monthly Net Asset Values (NAVs) for investment funds.
FINANCIAL REPORTING is responsible for the preparation, review, and delivery of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, local regulations, and client specifications. The team also coordinates regulatory reporting and supports external audits in cooperation with the Big Four firms.
EXPENSE ADMINISTRATION is responsible for the day-to-day management of fund expenses and supports the invoicing process across a range of operational activities. Key responsibilities include calculating asset-based fees, processing VAT calculations and refunds, generating reports, and assisting with the daily operations of the invoicing team.
CUSTODY provides operational services to financial institutions in support of transaction processing and asset servicing. Responsibilities include account administration, corporate actions, foreign exchange, client service, funds transfers, trade management, and ensuring the secure settlement and safekeeping of financial assets.
TRANSFER AGENCY provides operational and regulatory services to investment funds and their investors. Its responsibilities include investor onboarding, anti-money laundering (AML) analysis and screening, transaction and cash processing, reconciliation of fund accounts, distribution support, trailer fee administration, and client service with reporting and inquiry resolution.
Who We’re Looking For
- Fluent in English (minimum B2)
- A creative mindset combined with strong analytical and communication skills
- A student of minimum III year (end/or in the middle of III year)
- A team player with a proactive attitude and motivation to learn and grow
- Strong organizational skills and confidence in managing tasks and priorities
- Availability of at least 30 hours per week (Monday–Friday, between 8:00–18:00)
- Solid MS Excel skills
