Base Manager

We invite applications for the position of Base Manager to work within a close-knit professional team based at MPA, Falkland Islands, reporting to the UKSAR Business Manager with direct responsibility for a Base Administrator. Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
General Management/Customer Management
- Supervise the operation of the base to ensure that the contracted service is delivered consistently, safely and to the agreed client service levels.
- Act as the primary point of contact at the work site for communications with the MOD designated Representative (OC 905). Liaison with 905 Expeditionary Air Wing personnel and the local MOD base management to understand and resolve issues; keeping the Chief Pilots and Chief Engineers or their nominated Deputy involved and informed.
- Liaison with UKSAR HQ on issues affecting service delivery.
- Reporting on Airbridge & FIRS issues.
- Ensuring that policies and procedures as set out in the Compliance & Safety Manuals are complied with at the base.
- Building and fostering relationships with the BFSAI and FI government, their organisations, and services.
- Present annual financial budgets for approval, and more routinely throughout the fiscal year, multi-year resource projections for the operation.
- Ensure that Health & Safety across the function is a priority and that all Safety Management Systems in place comply with Bristow Group and Legislative standards.
Essential Criteria
- Experience of managing commercial aviation operations within the regulatory framework of the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
- Experience working as a contractor for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and/or other UK Government organisations.
- Experience of successfully managing an overseas rotational workforce.
- Experience in leading change within an organisation to achieve positive outcomes for both customers and internally.
- Able to plan and organise work to achieve goals; achieves targeted results with minimal supervision; is accountable or own actions.
- Experience in building long term customer relationships based on trust.
- Possess excellent verbal & written communications skills; Provides timely, well organised verbal & written information that is audience appropriate; listens attentively to others and retains / processes information.
- Builds effective relationships with internal & external customers; ability to work independently and coordinate work with others; resolves conflicts in a professional manner.

- Must be eligible to meet the requirements to hold a Falkland Islands work permit.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements of National Security Vetting (SC).
Desirable Criteria
- Educated to Masters Degree level (MBA) or equivalent. Pilot or Technical Crew qualified to operate on S-92 aircraft.
The successful candidate will need to comply with local Immigration Policies, Medical Requirements and Security Clearance Processes to obtain a relevant work permit in the locations the Company has operations, if not a resident in the location.
