Join Skaylink, part of Vodafone, and own backup and disaster recovery projects end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to automation and customer consulting using Veeam and cloud technologies.
This role is remote within Romania. If you are based in Cluj-Napoca, you can also choose a hybrid setup and work from our office.
What you will do
- Design and implement enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam.
- Deliver backup and DR projects end-to-end, from architecture through implementation and handover.
- Implement secure backup strategies, including immutable, offsite, and cloud-based protection.
- Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery issues and improve platform resilience.
- Automate backup processes using PowerShell and APIs.
- Act as a technical consultant for customers and collaborate with infrastructure teams.
When you fit in with us
- 5 years of hands-on experience in backup, infrastructure, or a similar role.
- Strong Veeam and enterprise backup experience.
- Experience delivering backup or DR projects end-to-end.
- Knowledge of cloud, immutable storage, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Good knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, and Hyper-V.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and automation, with strong troubleshooting and consulting skills.
- Fluency in English and German.
- Linux experience
- AvePoint or Veeam Data Cloud experience
- Automation experience
- ITIL knowledge
- VMCE certification

Skills Required
- 5 years of hands-on experience in backup, infrastructure, or similar engineering role
- Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication and backup best practices
- Knowledge of cloud, immutable storage, and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Azure, S3, Wasabi)
- Understanding of Windows Server, VMware vSphere, or Hyper-V environments
- Proficiency in PowerShell and interest in automation and process improvement
- Structured, reliable, solution-oriented approach with strong troubleshooting skills
- Fluency in English and German
- Linux experience
- AvePoint or Veeam Data Cloud experience
- Additional automation experience
- ITIL knowledge
- VMCE certification
