Backend Team Leader

Description

We are looking for a talented hands-on backend team leader to lead one of our Engineering teams.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead your team to success. Balance short-term needs and long-term goals. Work closely with the Group manager, VP of Engineering, and tech lead, coordinate with the team members, help solve problems, and maintain a high level of product quality, working in an interesting and cooperative environment following Agile concepts and methodologies.

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Minimum 3 years experience of hands-on leading a team in Agile methodology
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Backend development of complex systems
• Proficient in Java, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
• Experience with Kafka, and Docker – a must!
• Experience with SQL- a must
• DBs - Postgres, Mongo, or Cassandra
• Nomad, Consul – advantage
• Networking, security - advantage
• Strong Leadership skills – Hands-on, ability to inspire, motivate, train, and manage the team to meet high goals
• Experience with Open-source development model- Advantage
• Experience with Cloud environments (AWS) - Advantage
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Provide technical and personal guidance and mentorship to your team members
• Work closely with the VP engineering, other group managers, and team leads to achieve business goals
• Work alongside the PM prioritizing tasks features development management, and planning product releases
• Provide architecture oversight, encouraging the team to innovate and develop edge technologies
• Provide high code quality and demonstrate high development standards
