As a Backend Staff Developer (AI Integration) at Poka, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and evolving our AI integration services. Your expertise will help bring innovative, real-world solutions to life that enhance the experience of our users.

What you’ll do:- Design, maintain, and evolve backend services and subsystems for AI integration.
- Rapidly prototype R&D concepts to test and validate ideas.
- Stay up to date with the latest in AI technology and suggest actionable innovations.
- Collaborate with product managers during the ideation and feasibility stages.
- Build a deep understanding of our product to evaluate the ROI of new AI features.
- Support product teams in delivering projects that integrate AI.
- Help onboard teams across the company to successfully use and adopt AI tools.
- Respond to legal and security questions related to AI usage within our platform.
- Document architectural decisions (RFCs, ADRs) in a clear and collaborative manner.
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with strong backend skills.
- A track record of delivering complex technical projects.
- A genuine interest in the business/product side of technology.
- Solid understanding of LLMs (tokens, inference, prompt engineering).
- Hands-on experience deploying and integrating AI within cloud-based architectures.
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.
- Familiarity with vector databases.
- Knowledge of machine learning and model optimization techniques.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, or similar AI services.
