Backend Software Engineer (Mid-Level)
In this role, you will make a meaningful contribution in ensuring we continue to move in the right direction. You will be working on a variety of exciting technologies. Our application code is written in Java using Spring Boot, Hibernate, Redis, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch. Your application will be deployed using Kubernetes and monitored using Prometheus. Everything runs in AWS.

As a Software Engineer in the Treatwell team you will work as part of a cross functional Agile team writing and shipping high quality code frequently. You’ll do whatever you can to help your team to meet or exceed its goals and you will drive incremental improvements in both the way we work and the software we deliver. You will also help your teammates to become more effective and grow their skills.

You will be responsible for:

• You’ll contribute to the delivery of meaningful, incremental changes by collaborating with your cross-functional team.
• You’ll write clean, maintainable code and participate in peer reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
• You’ll actively learn from more senior engineers and contribute ideas during planning and technical discussions.
• You’ll proactively identify and raise issues or improvements related to code, tooling, or processes within your team.
• You’ll support the operation of your team’s applications in production, including participating in incident response and resolving bugs.
• You’ll develop a deeper understanding of your team's systems and contribute to technical documentation to support maintainability.

About You:

• You’ve written Java professionally.
• You’ve worked with some of our tech stack and can learn the rest very quickly.
• You’ve been part of an Agile development team and understand the value of iterative delivery and collaboration.
• You’re keen to grow your impact by learning from and contributing to your team’s collective success.
• You have a solid understanding of how modern distributed applications work, and you're building up your design and architectural thinking.
• You care about writing quality code and are developing a keen eye for maintainable and well-tested solutions.
• You’re active in the software development community, whether through blogs, meetups, personal projects or open-source contributions.
