Backend Software Developer - Java/SpringBoot (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Backend Developer/Engineer to join the team behind Charisma and help build, scale, and stabilize a solution that supports complex operational and rollout processes.

You will work on backend services at the core of the solution, tackling challenges around microservices, integrations, data, performance, and system reliability. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will have the opportunity to improve both existing production services and the way new functionality is designed and delivered.

You will be part of an agile delivery environment where backend, frontend, quality, and business experts work together to turn real business requirements into reliable software.                                                                   

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Design, develop, and continuously improve backend services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot
• Build and evolve microservices and REST APIs used by the Charisma solution
• Turn new business requirements into maintainable and scalable technical solutions
• Work on performance optimization and technical stabilization of production services
• Design data models and work with PostgreSQL, SQL optimization, and database migrations
• Apply engineering approaches such as Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture, Clean Architecture, and established design patterns
• Design and document APIs using OpenAPI / Swagger
• Build and maintain integrations using REST and TARDIS
• Develop automated unit, integration, API, performance, and load tests
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD as part of the development and delivery lifecycle
• Improve application observability and troubleshooting using Prometheus, Grafana, LUMINA, OpenTelemetry, and logging
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, quality engineers, and business experts to deliver end-to-end functionality
• Contribute to further rollout activities and the continuous improvement of the overall solution

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

• Have strong hands-on experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, and the Spring Framework.
• Are experienced in developing and maintaining microservices and REST APIs.
• Bring solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Have worked with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Security, Spring Web, and Spring Validation.
• Understand modern software architecture and engineering principles, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture, Clean Architecture, and design patterns.
• Have experience using Maven or Gradle for build and dependency management.
• Are familiar with automated testing frameworks and tools such as JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, and API testing solutions.
• Have experience with performance and load testing of large-scale applications.
• Bring practical experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understand the importance of observability, monitoring, and logging in building reliable applications.
• Have experience working with REST-based integrations and TARDIS.
• Enjoy solving technical challenges, collaborating with team members, and continuously improving the quality and performance of software solutions.
• Speak English at a minimum B2 level.

• Experience with AWS
• Knowledge of Kotlin
• Experience with Reactive Programming / WebFlux
• Knowledge of route optimization technologies

Salary

Final salary is negotiable.

We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2000€ /brutto.
