Your Role
We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help us design, build, and scale the core of our digital health platform. You’ll work on expanding the capabilities of Eva, our AI-powered health assistant, and build systems that automate and simplify healthcare administration at scale. This role blends hands-on backend development with opportunities to influence technical direction and mentor teammates.
Your Impact
Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power Eva’s healthcare interactions.
Collaborate closely with Data Science, Frontend, and Infrastructure teams to bring AI and NLP solutions into production.
Make technical tradeoffs to balance impact, user experience, and long-term scalability.
Champion engineering best practices, including reducing technical debt and improving reliability.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to growing a high-performing engineering culture.
Partner with product managers, designers, and analysts to deeply understand user needs and deliver impactful solutions.
Contribute to both short- and long-term technical roadmaps.
Your Skillset
7-10+ years of backend engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and scaling production systems.
Strong expertise in backend languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java, C++).
Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and modern DevOps practices.
Solid foundation in designing APIs and integrating backend services.
Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), with experience optimizing performance.
Curiosity about ML/NLP concepts and interest in applying them at scale.
Strong cross-functional communication skills and experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
Entrepreneurial mindset: thrive in ambiguity, take initiative, and drive projects end to end.
