For a Swiss software company based in St. Gallen that develops tailor-made digital solutions for its clients, we are looking for backend support for one of their ongoing projects. You will be part of an experienced development team, directly contributing to enhancing existing services and implementing new features.
Your tasks:
- Developing and extending backend services with Java and Spring Boot
- Delivering new features from technical design through implementation to testing
- Integrating interfaces, APIs and databases within an established system landscape
- Supporting deployment, operations and monitoring on the Google Cloud Platform
- Using AI-assisted development tools and critically reviewing the generated code
Requirements
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot in production systems
- Solid DevOps skills: Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud (Google, Azure or AWS) and observability
- Experience with integrations, APIs and databases in established system landscapes
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted and agentic coding (e.g. Claude Code)
- Nice to have: experience with Google Cloud services such as Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery or Cloud Functions
- Independent, structured way of working
- Very good German and/or English skills
Benefits
- Start: beginning of November 2026
- Duration: until the end of January 2027, with a possible extension into February 2027
- Workload: 40–50%
- Location: remote possible; an onboarding day on site and occasional presence at the office in St. Gallen are appreciated
- Salary: CHF 35+/h
