Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior/Staff Backend Engineer to join our growing team at Lyric. As a key member of the Core Backend engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and integrating backend services for our platform, ensuring high availability, stability and scalability for various use cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Development: Lead the development of backend services, modules and features, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
System Design: Collaborate with product managers, technical architects and frontend engineers to translate designs and requirements into robust REST interfaces, business logic and state management.
Performance Optimization: Optimize existing systems and services to deliver fast, adaptive and fault resistant backends.
Testing and Benchmarking: Build and develop with internal tools and frameworks for comprehensive testing and validation to ensure that delivered solutions meet acceptance criteria
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate services and workloads with other backend services, APIs, and data sources, ensuring performant functionality spanning multiple components
Code Reviews and Mentorship: Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and maintainability, and provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the Core Backend engineering team.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in backend development, and explore new tools and technologies to enhance our development process and improve the quality of our products.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
4+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on at least one programming language Python, NodeJs, Golang
Proficiency in development of REST API services using FastAPI/Django, Express/NestJS, Gin or equivalent server frameworks
Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases to structure and store application metadata such as MySQL, Postgres, RDS or MongoDB
Experience in messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS
Understanding of containerization and container workload orchestration with tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Familiarity with working on commonly-used Cloud Platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure and related technologies such as Object storage (e.g., AWS S3) and Container Registry (e.g., AWS ECR)
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), code collaboration tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Github Actions/Jenkins)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
