Freedom Technology Solutions Groups is looking to add a junior Backend Developer to the team! The Junior Backend Developer applies fundamental concepts, processes, and procedures to technical assignments in backend development. This role provides an opportunity to build hands-on experience with modern software development practices under close supervision.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain backend services using Java, JavaScript, and Python.

Assist with implementing secure coding practices within a DevSecOps pipeline.

Support containerized application development (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Contribute to cloud-based application development and deployment in AWS environments.

Participate in geospatial application development, including data ingestion and processing.

Collaborate with senior developers in Agile ceremonies (daily scrums, sprint planning, retrospectives).

Perform unit testing and support integration testing.

Document work performed and contribute to knowledge-sharing repositories.

Qualifications:

0–2 years of software development experience.

Experience with Java, JavaScript, and/or Python programming.

Basic knowledge of DevSecOps pipelines and Agile practices.

Understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS preferred, Microsoft, GCP, and others).

Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Interest or coursework in geospatial technologies.
