One of our product suites, the Monocl product suite, was launched in 2016, developed in Sweden, with Gothenburg as the European Definitive Healthcare HQ. The Monocl team works from locations around the world, with approximately 50 employees based in Sweden.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you will work in a team of experienced backend engineers in close collaboration with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to build and scale the services that power our platform.
You will be part of a high-performing, supportive environment where curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement are part of everyday life. With the backing of talented colleagues, you will take an active role in:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs
- Contributing to the architectural evolution of our platform to support future growth and performance
- Writing robust, production-quality code with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, and security
- Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to deliver impactful features
- Supporting a culture of knowledge sharing, code reviews, and continuous improvement

Experience
- At least 4 years of professional experience in backend engineering or a similar software development role
- Solid experience working with backend frameworks in languages like Java, Python, Scala, or similar
- Familiarity with RESTful API design, and scalable backend systems
- Experience working in agile teams and collaborating closely with product and engineering stakeholders
- Strong understanding of testing practices and code quality standards
- Fluent or beginner in Swedish
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Knowledge of Docker, containerization, and CI/CD practices
- Exposure to distributed systems or event-driven architecture
- Familiarity with databases (both SQL and NoSQL)
