We’re looking for a Java backend developer to join our Catalog Games team and help build and improve the technology behind our games.
You’ll develop game features, services, tools, and systems while collaborating with people across different disciplines. You’ll contribute throughout the lifecycle of our backend systems, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement.
We’re looking for a mid-level developer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems and is comfortable working with large-scale, real-time systems and established codebases. You’ll take ownership of complete features or components, work autonomously, break work into manageable tasks, and balance delivery speed with quality, maintainability, and reliability.
Your Role Within Our KingdomYou’ll work as part of a highly capable, collaborative team developing systems that improve game development and support features across Catalog Games’ titles. You’ll help deliver reliable, maintainable technology that supports great player experiences.
Our tech team serves as a central hub for game development. You’ll contribute to shared platforms, tools, and Java server frameworks, while working with teams across the organization. You’ll communicate progress, plans, risks, and problems clearly; contribute to technical decisions; support production services; and help improve our documentation, processes, and ways of working.

Skills to Create ThrillsStrong Java development skills and solid Computer Science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, concurrency, and scalability.
Experience with databases, web development, UNIX environments, and production backend systems.
The ability to design and implement medium-sized systems or components while contributing to larger systems.
Experience working with established and evolving codebases, understanding existing patterns and constraints, and improving systems pragmatically.
Experience with automated testing, code reviews, monitoring, debugging, incident investigation, and production support.
The ability to take ownership, estimate and plan work, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively with teammates and stakeholders.
A pragmatic approach to balancing quality, maintainability, reliability, and delivery speed.
A willingness to share knowledge, improve documentation, and support less-experienced developers.

Fluency in English.
Experience with NoSQL, Big Data, Bash, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or other programming languages.
Experience with CI/CD concepts, Jenkins pipelines, Google Cloud, or other cloud platforms.
