About the Team/Role

This role is critical to the efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions within WEX's Payment Operations. The Banking Operations Specialist will contribute to the team's goals by ensuring smooth daily operations, resolving discrepancies, and supporting internal and external stakeholders. This position offers a significant impact on our operational efficiency and risk mitigation through meticulous transaction handling and process improvement.

How you'll make an impact

• Must reside in Fargo, ND and/or surrounding areas.

• Execute daily financial transaction processes to ensure accurate and timely payment operations, including opening and closing procedures, ACH entries, and comprehensive payment processing (reviewing, balancing, post-processing, and sending deposits).

• Manage and resolve operational inquiries and discrepancies for internal and external stakeholders using case management systems, encompassing reprocessing requests, payment adjustments, and research questions.

• Maintain data integrity and system proficiency by accurately utilizing and managing spreadsheets, demonstrating expertise in financial software for payment movement and monitoring, and completing advanced tasks such as file confirmation and live money pulls.

• Provide essential in-office operational support at the designated Fargo location, including physical document and package handling as required. This position is not eligible for remote work.

• Contribute to process improvement and operational excellence by identifying gaps, recommending solutions, assisting with system testing, and supporting broader team and project initiatives.

• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment through respectful communication, independent conflict resolution, and adherence to WEX leadership principles.

• Proactively integrate AI and automation technologies into operational processes to drive scale, reduce reliance on manual efforts, and mitigate operational risks.

Experience you'll bring

• Must reside in Fargo, ND and/or surrounding areas.

• Proven experience in payment processing or a related financial environment.

• Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software and systems, including spreadsheet applications and case management systems (e.g., RightNow).

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to payment processing.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Accounting).

• Certification in a related area (e.g., Certified Payment Professional (CPP)).

• 2+ years of experience in payment processing or a similar role.

• Advanced knowledge of RDCPoint and RightNow systems.

• Strong preference for candidates located in Fargo, ND due to required in-office duties, including package handling.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
