JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: High School Diploma. Post-Secondary degree/certification preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: Previous medical jail experience preferred
Required Licenses / Certifications: BLS, LPN or RN
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: The Back Office Assistants have the responsibility for following policy in the overall operation of the Clinic's back office. They assist the providers in the immediate care of the inmates and assists in clerical duties as time allows.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Shall perform health appraisal of each inmate within 7 days of admission, including a medical screening, histories of the medical, dental, mental health and immunizations, vital signs, other tests and therapy as appropriate. PREA training completion required.
MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Handles Multiple Priorities. Independent discretion/decision making. Makes decisions under pressure. Manages anger/fear/hostility. Manages stress appropriately. Works in close proximity to others and/or in a distracting environment Works with others effectively.
Skills Required
- High School Diploma
- Post-secondary degree or certification
- Previous medical jail experience
- LPN or RN license
- BLS certification
- PREA training completion
- Good communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to perform health appraisal and medical screening within seven days of admission
- Ability to assist providers in inmate care and perform clerical duties as needed
