The Role
Performs due diligence and monitoring and provides analytical support for compliance risks in Banking as a Service programs. Responsible for executing processes to ensure that the operations of BaaS partners and providers comply with all federal and state banking laws and regulations related to regulatory compliance.
Escalates issues to Compliance Leadership and communicates results of analyses, reviews, and testing in a timely manner. 
Reports to the BaaS Compliance Officer.

Level I: Primary focus is on personal development of skills and acquisition of knowledge to be able to perform the activities of single or multiple functional areas, with supervision.

Level II: Level I expectations with additional focus on increasing amount of production while being independently proficient and competent in multiple functional areas.

Level III: Level I and II expectations of quality, production, and acquisition of knowledge while being competent and proficient in all aspects/functional areas of the role. Additional responsibilities include training less-experienced team members, assisting with complex issues/projects, acting as a resource to other team members, and reviewing processes and procedures for improvement opportunities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 

• Provide compliance support to internal BaaS program stakeholders and FinTech partners to ensure performance of FinTech compliance responsibilities.

• Partner with team members and perform onboarding due diligence in connection with FinTech programs.

• Perform compliance risk and control activities for the BaaS business unit.

• Ensure implementation of policy and regulatory requirements with a focus on Regulation CC, TISA and Regulation DD, EFTA and Regulation E, Regulation J, GLBA and Regulation P, TCPA, CANSPAM, FCRA, UDAAP, the E-SIGN Act, and relevant state privacy and consumer protection laws, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.

• Assist with risk assessments to identify compliance risks and vulnerabilities in BaaS operations and in FinTech programs and platforms.

• Perform continuous monitoring, testing, issues management, and marketing review for BaaS programs.

• Assist with responses to and remediation of FinTech customer complaints and regulatory disputes as needed.

• Review marketing campaign strategies and advertising materials to effectively mitigate compliance risks and provide regulatory guidance on applicability of consumer and banking laws.

• Provide solution-oriented compliance support to help business partners reach their goals while meeting compliance requirements.

• Advise business partners on operational procedures to help maintain compliance with applicable regulations.

• Support BaaS-related aspects of compliance examinations.

• Additional duties as requested.

Competencies:
• Knowledge of U.S. consumer and banking laws and regulations governing deposits, payments, and their associated impact on products, operations, and services.

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior financial institution, compliance, legal, and/or risk experience required.

• Experience with Compliance testing and monitoring helpful.
• Ability to interact harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support business partners and proven ability adapt to change, be  open to new ideas, take on new challenges, and adjust plans to meet changing needs

General:
• Conforms to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

• 2+ years of banking experience, with some compliance or risk management experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college, business or banking professional training 
preferred.

Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:

• General office environment.
• Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required. Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and standing 
required.

• General office equipment.
