Hourly:
Hourly Wage Scale: Starting at $27.29 USD hourly + Benefits (+ Bonus)
The hourly range reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position at the time of posting. Within the range, exact compensation will be determined based on education/training, skill set, experience, and other organizational needs.
Shift Differential Pay:
Swing - $0.15
Graveyard - $0.75

SUMMARY
Entry-level position within the maintenance department assisting senior mechanics while learning the basics about the operation and maintenance of boilers and steam systems that supply heat or power for buildings or industrial processes. Assists with a single stage ammonia refrigeration system. Operates and maintains plant air system and plant water supply system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes and adheres to company safety work rules and regulations.
  • Provides necessary training for newly hired ADR Operators as well as follow up training for experienced operators.
  • Monitors and evaluates progress of new ADR Operators.
  • Evaluates and tests the performance of ADR Operator trainees after 30, 60, and 90 days.
  • Evaluates and tests the performance of experienced operators.
  • Organizes training for all new or modified changes that occur in the ADR area with assistance from the Production Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Oversees ADR Operators as needed.
  • Conducts monthly informational meetings with the ADR Operators.
  • Works with the maintenance department to set up PM schedule for the defect removal equipment.
  • Identifies and reports mechanical issues to the maintenance and production departments.
  • Coordinates cutter wheel maintenance schedule.
  • Collaborates with other operators in varying departments.
  • Attends and participates in all annual, departmental, and job specific required training and monthly informational meetings.
  • Communicates any problems or changes in production or quality to supervisor and appropriate personnel.
  • Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation.
  • Keeps area clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  • Helps to build and promote a strong "Teamwork" environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.
  • Participates in continuous improvement process.
  • Must adhere to the McCain Code of Conduct.
  • The employee may be required to successfully complete the orientation and training provided during the first ninety- (90) days of employment.


SCOPE OF AUTHORITY

  • Responsibility to monitor work areas, watch for suspicious behavior and report any concerns regarding unidentified visitors and/or unauthorized personnel.
  • Authority to question and take appropriate measures regarding the safety of themselves, other employees, products, and equipment.
  • Responsibility of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the food processing facility, especially where any raw or finished product is produced.
  • Authority to report and/or eliminate hazards to the safety of the food that is produced in the facility.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages, draw and interpret bar graphs.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Mechanical Machinery aptitude skills required.
  • Welding skills preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&Id's).
  • Basic Plumbing and Piping skills required.
  • Basic Computer Skills.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid State Driver's License if operating company vehicles.
  • Valid McCain Forklift Operator's License.
  • Must have a supply of Lock Out/Tag Out identification cards and locks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.
The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
