Azure Cloud Network Engineer

Job summary:

Thales Digital Factory accelerates the digital transformation of Thales entities and their clients. The Cloud Trustnest Platform is an important vector of this transformation, providing each of the group's engineers the opportunity to build the environment that best meets their needs by combining network infrastructures, container orchestrators, and a state-of-the-art software factory.

Today, the platform is in production and is used by several thousand developers each day. As the level of maturity of our users constantly evolves, some of them regularly reach out to us to request the integration of new services.

You will join the Network Backbone team, which is responsible for providing the core network of the Trustnest Platform product in the Azure Public Cloud, enabling interconnections with our clients and addressing the challenges of our international context.

You’ll need to have

• Solid experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud

• Automation skills - Ansible, Terraform

• Scripting experience (Powershell, Bash, Azure CLI)

• Understanding of programming languages (Go, Java)

• Cloud Networking skills (Azure Peering, Azure vnet, Azure Express Route, Azure VPN, Azure vWAN, Azure interco, Azure Firewall, Azure NSG,  Azure DNS, Infoblox (DNS, IPAM), Zscaler ZIA et ZPA, Zero Trust Network Access)

• Observability skills (Alerting, Log Instrumentation, Monitoring) - Datadog, Azure Monitoring, Azure netwatcher

• Experience with various operating systems & hypervisors (Linux, Windows, Mac)

• Experience with Cloud Services (Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Virtual Machine, Azure NSG, Azure Firewall, Custom route table, Azure workspace, Bloc storage, kVault )

• Working experience with GitLab, GitLab CI, Jira

• Network Infrastructure Management skills - MP-BGP (Example : Peering and Interco to internet), Static routing

• Network Architecture Management skills (Campus, WAN, LAN)

• Network Security Management skills (IPSec, VPN, Access control)

• Network Performance Management skills (Wireshark & Tcpdump, QoS)

• Network Virtualization Management skills (vLAN, Trunk, SDWAN)

• Experience in working inside teams using Agile methodology

Whilst working with us on

• Implement Azure network components such as virtual networks (VNets), subnets, network security groups (NSG), network peering, VPN gateways, firewall filtering rules in a multi-region vWAN context.

• Develop scripts and automation templates using tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM Templates to automate deployment, configuration, and maintenance tasks.

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to deploy Azure resources and applications using GitLab CI or similar tools.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and areas to optimize, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

• Collaborate with SRE teams to optimize the management of core network of the Trustnest Platform product

• Actively participate in various agile ceremonies as a key member of the development team

• Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to capture knowledge and best practices.
