Job Description

We are looking for an Azure Administrator to manage, optimize, secure, and support Microsoft Azure cloud environments while enabling reliable data management, analytics, reporting, and enterprise application services. This position will be a full-time contract and hybrid in Trenton, NJ.

What You'll Do

  • Deploy, configure, and administer Microsoft Azure cloud resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, databases, virtual networks, and platform services

  • Support the implementation and ongoing administration of Azure environments to meet business and project requirements

  • Manage production and non-production Azure environments while ensuring proper resource utilization, tagging, and cost management

  • Monitor Azure infrastructure, services, and applications for health, performance, availability, and capacity

  • Utilize Azure Monitor, logging, analytics, and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve issues

  • Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery

  • Design and maintain highly available Azure environments utilizing availability sets, load balancers, zone redundancy, and related technologies

  • Administer Azure security controls including network security groups, firewalls, encryption, Key Vault, and access management

  • Manage Azure Active Directory access, user permissions, role-based access control, and identity management processes

  • Maintain cloud security and data integrity while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices

  • Configure and support Azure networking components including virtual networks, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, subnets, and hybrid connectivity solutions

  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues between Azure and on-premises environments

  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using Infrastructure as Code technologies including ARM templates, Bicep, PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform

  • Support development and DevOps teams by managing Azure infrastructure used for application deployments and CI/CD pipelines

  • Investigate and resolve Azure-related incidents, performance issues, and service disruptions

  • Coordinate with Microsoft support and third-party vendors to resolve complex cloud-related issues

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, operational procedures, and support runbooks

  • Analyze cloud usage and costs and recommend optimization strategies to improve efficiency and reduce spending

  • Research Azure updates, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives

What You'll Need

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft Azure cloud environments

  • Experience deploying, configuring, and managing Azure infrastructure and platform services

  • Strong experience with Azure networking including virtual networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, subnets, and hybrid connectivity

  • Experience implementing and managing Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and disaster recovery solutions

  • Experience administering Azure Active Directory, role-based access control, and identity management solutions

  • Knowledge of Azure security services, cloud security best practices, and compliance requirements

  • Experience monitoring cloud environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tools

  • Experience troubleshooting Azure infrastructure, networking, performance, and availability issues

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, or Azure CLI

  • Experience supporting DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment solutions

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse, analytics, or reporting environments

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure data services and data management platforms

  • Experience supporting government, public sector, or highly regulated environments

  • Experience with cloud governance, cost optimization, and resource management

  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or related certifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise cloud migration and modernization initiatives

  • Knowledge of data governance, business intelligence, and enterprise reporting solutions

Physical Demands

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
