Technical Solutions Architect II – Cloud Migration & App Modernization (AWS Focused)
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 5 years selling, architecting, implementing and/or marketing AWS cloud solutions, with a specific track record in large-scale cloud migrations and modernizing legacy applications.
- Technical Expertise:
- AI Proficiency: Deep familiarity and proficiency with modern AI tools. Specifically, experience using Gen AI coding assistants (e.g. Windsurf, Amazon Q for Developers) to accelerate code re-factoring and other modernization tasks.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex modernization strategies to C-level executives.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Professional (Generative AI Developer, DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect) or confident ability to demonstrate equivalent-level subject matter expertise with immediate plan to either acquire or re-aquire this level of certification.
- Education: 4-year bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Travel: Ability for overnight travel (25% - 50%).
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $124,800.00 to $150,0000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

Our Cloud Team is currently looking for a Technical Solutions Architect with an AWS focus who is passionate about Cloud Migration and Application Modernization.

What will you be doing?
Technical Solutions Architects are quintessential customer advocates with both superb business acumen and a high degree of technical proficiency. As a key contributor around Cloud Migration & Application Modernization, you will focus on transforming business through innovative solutions that deliver best in class omnichannel experiences.
You will use data-driven approaches and cutting-edge AI tools to align and execute WWT’s portfolio across the business. Specifically, you will be responsible for evaluating and developing new and complex solution offerings that focus on moving legacy workloads to the cloud and re-factoring them for the modern era.
Responsibilities Include:
- Strategic Portfolio Management: In collaboration with the larger GS&A team, build and maintain the Cloud Migration & Application Modernization solution portfolio as part of the team that defines the go-to-market strategy for WWT to grow our cloud business. More specifically, you will drive the creation of standardized and repeatable solution offerings in conjunction with our strategic partners and their programs utilizing proven frameworks and methodologies.
- Pre-Sales Leadership: Provide technical pre-sales support to field sales teams in their efforts to win new logos and grow our existing customer relationships. You will act as the subject matter expert for customers looking to re-host, re-platform or re-factor legacy application workloads in the cloud.
- Solution Development & Content: Build and maintain technical marketing and proof of work collateral for our field teams and our customers to help position and sell Cloud Migration & Application Modernization solutions. This includes:
- Technical Solution Workshops: Delivering reference architectures and technical demonstrations of CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
- Proofs of Concept (POCs): Leading architectures and test results within the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) to demonstrate how legacy apps can be modernized using cloud-native services.
- Thought Leadership: Writing articles covering market trends, such as the use of Gen AI in code re-factoring.
- Partner/Solution Alignment: Work with our professional services organization and trusted services partners to ensure alignment between our solution portfolio and services capabilities.
- Enablement: Train WWT staff and our strategic partners on our unique ability to market, sell and deliver cloud solutions, specifically teaching the field how to spot opportunities for Cloud Migration & Application Modernization.
