About the Role
The AWS Cloud Architect, a Sr. Consultant in our Digital Health Division, will architect and implement solutions, and needed infrastructure on AWS. The role will be working as a team and independently on external client-facing projects. They will meet with customers to understand their needs and architect complex, Enterprise grade solutions that involve ETL pipelines, custom Databases, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Data Lakes, Integration with on-prem resources, IAM policies, Private Endpoints, etc. They must be able to learn and keep up with rapidly changing technology. They must exhibit proficiency in Enterprise systems, and design concepts, as well as work with a team of other engineers, IT professionals, and key business stakeholders. They must be able to do custom development, integrate older tools and technologies, and continuously build their own skills. They must be able to research and analyze existing programs and prepare documentation for work assignments. As well as contribute to regular quality assurance activities such as a peer review.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in discovery discussions with clients to determine use cases and develop solutions
- Works closely with the Enterprise Architect, and ETL Developers to design the overall AWS solution which may include things like S3 Buckets, Private Endpoints, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS RDS, IoT Hub, Stream Analytics, AWS Cognito, etc.
- Serves as the main Subject Matter Expert on the AWS Cloud Platform, all its various resources, how to configure them, administering IAM roles, and security settings
- Will lead the development efforts on a Data solution for use in a large enterprise setting
- Create technical documentation for developed solutions
- Deliver training to customers on new technology
Required Skills and Experience
- AWS Certification in one of the following: Solutions Architect Associate, Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Professional, Advanced Networking Specialty, Security Specialty
- 3+ Years of experience in Architecting solutions on AWS in an Enterprise environment
- 3+ Years of experience in working with AWS Logs (e.g. Cloud Watch), and developing monitoring solutions
- 3+ Years of experience in creating IAM Roles and Policies to be used with various AWS resources
- 3+ Years of experience in AWS Administration; creating resources, securing private endpoints, configuring IAM roles, and right-sizing resources
- 5+ Years of experience with traditional on-prem Enterprise technologies like Active Directory, TCP/IP, VPN, Routers/Firewalls, SANs, NAS, Client/Server environments, etc
- 5+ Years of experience working in an Enterprise setting
- Proficiency with Networking resources within AWS and integrating it to on-prem resources
- Proficiency in configuring private endpoints for all resources and restricting internal VPC and on-prem traffic only
- Previous experience with the AWS Data Stack in an Enterprise Setting (AWS RDS, AWS S3 Buckets, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS DSM, etc.)
- Experience in migrating data and/or workloads from on-prem systems to the Cloud
- Experience in creating integrated solutions in a Hybrid Cloud environment (Cloud and On-prem)
- Experience with CI/CD toolset (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure Devops)
- Experience working GIT (GitHub, GitLab, AWS CodeCommit, Azure Devops)
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- 4+ Years of experience with AWS Data Platform in an Enterprise Setting
- Healthcare experience is a plus
