Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design and evolution of our enterprise cloud platform Fleethub on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
In this role, you will define cloud architecture standards, shape cloud strategy, and guide teams in building secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient cloud‑native solutions. You will work at the intersection of technology, business, and delivery, combining hands‑on architectural expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Strategy
- Design scalable, secure, and cost‑optimized AWS architectures aligned with business and technical requirements
- Define system components, service boundaries, data flows, and integration patterns
- Establish architecture principles for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery
- Drive cloud standardization, reference architectures, and best practices
Solution Delivery & Enablement
- Lead the implementation of AWS services such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, MSK and related platform services
- Guide teams in using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK), Terraform is a must
- Work closely with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑native delivery models (Knowledge of Jenkins is needed)
- Support cloud migrations, application modernization, and legacy decompositions
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Design architectures that follow AWS Well‑Architected Framework and security best practices
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards (e.g., OWASP, ISO 27001, SOC 2)
Cost, Performance & Reliability
- Optimize performance, availability, and cost using CloudWatch, Trusted Advisor, Cost Explorer, and FinOps principles
- Proactively identify risks and architectural improvement opportunities
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Partner with software engineers, DevOps, product owners, and stakeholders to align architecture with business goals
- Act as a technical authority and mentor, reviewing designs and coaching engineering teams
- Contribute to end‑to‑end solution design across integrated enterprise systems
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain clear architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and decision records
- Effectively communicate architectural decisions to both technical and non‑technical audiences
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep hands‑on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture patterns
- Strong background in designing and building cloud‑native applications (AWS preferred)
- Proficiency in modern application stacks, for example:
- Backend: Python 3.X, Django 3.2.x, Django Rest Framework 3.14.x (edited), Celery, Flask, Node.js
- Frontend: Docker Swarm (replacement with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service is planned), React or comparable frameworks
- Expert understanding of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
- Solid knowledge of cloud security architectures and operational best practices
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and cost management (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, FinOps)
Preferred
- Experience leading cross‑functional teams or pods in an Agile / scaled‑Agile environment
- Working knowledge of container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes / EKS)
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (nice to have)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8–12+ years of experience in software or cloud engineering
- 4+ years in a senior technical leadership or architecture role
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to code, coach, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
