What you do

Credit Assessment & Decisioning

  • Possess strong credit assessment skills and experience to facilitate higher quality of credit submissions and justifications from BU through thorough credit evaluations of Credit Proposals and Credit Memos, and engagement with BU.

  • Participate in round‑table reviews and perform customer site visits with BU for more complex Small Business credits

  • Ensure all program and product initiatives, and approvals comply with regulatory standards, internal credit policies, product program guidelines, and individual Lending Authority Limits.

Risk & Portfolio Management

  • Monitor deviation approvals to ensure adherence to defined thresholds, conduct analysis and propose solutions for undesired deviation trends.

  • Monitor portfolio quality statistics against ground observations to ensure delinquency performance is justified and aligned.

  • Safeguard portfolio quality by identifying potential negative credit trends and work with stakeholders e.g. Portfolio Analytics, Team Lead on validation / mediation.

  • Monitor and follow up on financial covenants, documentation gaps, and outstanding exceptions.

  • Assess distressed cases and recommend appropriate risk‑mitigation strategies.

Governance, Audit & Process Improvement

  • Drive enhancements to credit policies, programs, frameworks and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Support the achievement of satisfactory ratings in internal and external audits.

  • Represent Credit Risk in product, workflow and system design, loan sales initiatives, and subsequent revisions.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Deputize Team Lead in his/her absence and manage the team.

  • Impart credit skills and product knowledge, provide supervision, guidance, and technical support to junior credit approvers.

  • Foster a strong risk culture and promote best practices across the team.

Who you are
  • At least 8 yrs of credit and / or frontline experience.

  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication and effective negotiation skills for internal and external stakeholder management.

  • Excel proficiency and strong quantitative skills, data analytics capability and visualization, and attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and possess supervisory skills.

Additionally, a good understanding of:

  • Small Business Banking products and major SME segments

  • Portfolio program lending and delinquency-managed credit framework, and fraud risk management

  • Environmental and Social Governance in relation to SMEs
