The AmeriHome AVP, Trader is responsible for supporting the firm's correspondent mortgage trading and secondary marketing activities within one of the nation's leading bank-owned mortgage aggregators. This highly visible role provides regular interaction with senior management and executive leadership and plays an important part in the execution of the firm's loan acquisition and capital markets strategies. Working closely with sellers, investors, and internal business partners, this individual will oversee key trading workflows including tape-cracking, bid generation and delivery, trade confirmations, and post-trade performance analysis. The successful candidate will analyze loan-level data, monitor market conditions, evaluate execution opportunities, and support daily trading decisions across a dynamic correspondent platform. The ideal candidate will bring multiple years of mortgage capital markets and client-facing experience, or an advanced degree in a related field such as finance, economics, mathematics, or business administration. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to develop expertise across mortgage capital markets, pipeline management, risk management, and loan acquisition strategy while helping drive the firm's growth and profitability.- Support daily bulk bid processing and trade execution across a high-volume correspondent acquisition platform.
- Manage the tape-cracking process to ensure loan-level data is accurately validated, analyzed, and prepared for pricing and execution.
- Generate and deliver bids accurately and within established seller deadlines in a fast-paced market environment.
- Process trade confirmations and ensure executed trades are accurately documented and communicated through downstream workflows.
- Serve as a point of contact for sellers regarding bid results, trade execution, pricing inquiries, and operational requests.
- Analyze bid performance, margin results, seller activity, and execution trends to identify opportunities to improve profitability and business performance.
- Prepare and maintain reporting on bidding, trade execution, pull-through, and margin performance for desk leadership and key stakeholders
What you'll need:
- 3+ years of related experience in Residential Mortgage Lending, Capital Markets or similar field, or 1+ years of related experience with an advanced degree, such as MBA or Master's in Finance, Master or similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
- Intermediate knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending including; sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services.
- Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Advanced Excel.
- Entry level to intermediate SQL.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
