WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE
The AVP, Technical Accounting and Internal Controls, will help support in providing technical guidance to Revantage's accounting team. Along with that, this individual will assist in creating policies and procedures and ensure compliance with internal controls.
HOW YOU ADD VALUE

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist to develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with internal controls related to accounting policies and financial reporting
  • Contribute to ongoing internal control process improvement opportunities and foster standardization and consistency in processes and workpapers across businesses
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and assist with providing the necessary oversight and support of the internal and external audit processes
  • Perform technical accounting research and document the conclusions
  • Provide support by researching and determining appropriate accounting policies for significant, new, or unusual transactions, and effectively communicate the impact of implementing such policies to the accounting team and management
  • Participate and contribute to any requested ad hoc projects


WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, with 2 year of public accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and diction
  • Strong technical accounting research and analysis skills; able to clearly and concisely summarize the impact of financial accounting requirements
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate with teams, across various departments
  • Team player, positive attitude, and willingness to help (take on additional responsibilities as appropriate)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple properties and meet deadlines.


Preferred:

  • Real estate experience
  • CPA certification
  • Prior experience with financial consolidations
