Organizational Overview:
The Payment Security Products Team drives the end-to-end customer experience for Synchrony’s Payment Security offering—a debt cancellation program designed to help customers manage their account balance if certain qualifying life events occur (such as unemployment, hospitalization, leave of absence, nursing home stay, disability, or loss of life). The team partners closely with client teams to optimize acquisition and engagement and works with our third-party supplier to deliver on the product promise through phone and digital servicing, and cancellation experiences. By monitoring product performance, improving customer journeys, and ensuring strong operational execution, the team helps build customer trust and deliver strong results for Synchrony and our partners.
Role Summary/Purpose
We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented individual contributor who can manage a diverse workload and evolving priorities. This role supports the Debt Cancellation product team by managing the data collection for leadership review of supplier performance plus development and execution testing of supplier assigned Critical to Compliance (CTC) controls and SLAs/KPIs. The incumbent will build strong working knowledge of Fiserv functionality (including Credit Life Rules and non-monetary transactions) and supplier capabilities to effectively support product delivery. The role also provides project management support for the implementation of new products and/or new product features and capabilities, ensuring delivery milestones, dependencies, and stakeholder communications are managed within timelines and budget.
In addition, the role will develop and maintain supplier initiatives dashboard and reporting to support prioritization, track progress against commitments, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Oversight, Governance, and Control Execution
Coordinate with control owners and stakeholders to drive timely completion and reporting of supplier oversight deliverables, including escalation and closure of open items.
Develop, document, and execute supplier control and SLA testing to validate supplier performance and control effectiveness (test planning, execution, results documentation, and remediation tracking).
Identify, assess, and escalate emerging risks, issues, and control gaps; partner with stakeholders to define corrective actions and follow through to closure.
Partner with Compliance and Growth Supplier Managers to ensure supplier CTCs are appropriately aligned, and that Compliance Review Monitoring Activity Templates are completed and maintained to mitigate supplier risk.
Reporting, Metrics, and Stakeholder Communication
Collect, validate, and synthesize supplier performance data and deliver leadership-ready reporting and insights.
Develop, maintain, and enhance a supplier initiatives dashboard and metrics to communicate leading indicators, priorities, progress, and risks against key goals and objectives.
Provide routine status updates and present themes, trends, and risk insights to stakeholders and leadership audiences.
Marketing Surveillance Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for Marketing Surveillance oversight requests to related to Supplier.
Coordinate across stakeholders to support execution and timely closure of Marketing Surveillance testing and associated actions.
Product & Platform Support
Build and maintain working knowledge of Fiserv and supplier functionality to support product operations, testing, and change delivery.
Lead projects and strategic initiatives from planning through implementation, managing timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, and communications to ensure successful delivery.
Coordinate and support supplier/system updates, including RSA key rotations, online site certificate updates, and PIM changes (including testing, documentation, and stakeholder communications).
Additional Support
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience experience in supplier management, compliance, project management, or testing control effectiveness or in lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry, specializing in one or more of the following: reporting, project management, product management, supplier management, governance, risk management, compliance, control testing, and/or Growth.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
4+ years of experience pulling data, analyzing, and interpreting results, and presenting findings to leadership audiences.
Financial Services industry experience
Experience with Fiserv systems (preferred).
Strong time management and prioritization skills; ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Analytical, curious, and outcomes-oriented; able to identify root causes and recommend sustainable improvements.
Strong business and technical acumen; comfortable working across multiple data sources and stakeholders.
Demonstrated project management capability (planning, execution, risk/issue management, and reporting).
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience experience in supplier management, compliance, project management, or testing control effectiveness or in lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry, specializing in one or more of the following: reporting, project management, product management, supplier management, governance, risk management, compliance, control testing, and/or Growth.
Work Timings: 6:00 to 11:00 AM EST
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
