Role Summary/Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated AVP, Sr Product Engineer, APEX to help design, build, and evolve modern low-code web applications on the Oracle Application Express platform. You will work alongside senior architects and cross-functional agile teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions that integrate seamlessly with enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop Oracle APEX applications, including pages, components, dynamic actions, and reports.
Write efficient PL/SQL, SQL, and database objects (tables, views, packages, triggers) to support application logic and performance.
Implement custom UI enhancements using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3 to extend APEX out-of-the-box capabilities.
Integrate APEX applications with external systems through REST and SOAP web services (both consuming and exposing endpoints via ORDS).
Collaborate with senior architects on solution design, data modeling, and technical decisions.
Participate actively in agile/Scrum ceremonies — sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing APEX applications for performance, security, and maintainability.
Apply best practices for application security (authentication, authorization, session state protection, OWASP guidelines).
Document technical designs, integration specifications, and deployment procedures.
Support code reviews, testing, and CI/CD-driven deployments across environments
Qualifications/Requirements:
6+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle APEX (version 20.x or higher must).
4+ years of experience in Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and SQL (query tuning, analytical functions, packages).
4+ years of JavaScript (ES6+) and the APEX JavaScript API.
Proficiency with CSS3 and responsive design principles; familiarity with Universal Theme customization.
Mandatory: 4+ years of integrating APEX applications with RESTful and/or SOAP web services, including handling JSON/XML payloads, authentication (OAuth2, Basic, API keys), and error handling.
Desired Characteristics:
Familiarity with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for publishing APIs.
Working experience in agile/Scrum delivery environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Eligibility Criteria: Minimum 6+Years of experience mentioned in “ Required Skill/Knowledge” with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. In Lieu of degree , minimum of 8 years of experience required.
Work Timings: 2 PM – 11 PM IST
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
