Job Overview

The Assistant Vice President, Technology is responsible for leading technology teams and overseeing the delivery of technology solutions that support LPL Financial's business objectives. This role provides leadership across software development, technology operations, project execution, and platform modernization initiatives. The position partners with business and technology stakeholders to ensure systems and applications are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop technology professionals while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

  • Oversee the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of technology solutions and enterprise applications.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements, define priorities, and translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Manage project delivery, including planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, budgeting, and execution oversight.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, security, and operational effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with technology governance standards, cybersecurity requirements, regulatory obligations, and organizational policies.

  • Develop and maintain operational procedures related to monitoring, incident management, business continuity, and disaster recovery.

  • Contribute to technology strategy, roadmap development, and modernization initiatives.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Promote continuous improvement, operational excellence, and adoption of innovative technologies, including AI-enabled productivity solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 8+ years of progressive technology experience, including 3+ years in a leadership, management, or team-lead capacity.

  • Experience leading technology projects, technology teams, and software or infrastructure delivery initiatives.

  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and modern technology delivery practices.

  • Experience utilizing cloud technologies, enterprise applications, data platforms, or AI-enabled productivity tools within a technology organization.

Pay Range:

$140,500.00 - $234,100.00
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
