Job Overview:

The AVP, Senior Trustee Consultant will be an integral member of the Business Development team within LPL’s wholly owned subsidiary The Private Trust Company.  Our innovative, entrepreneurial, high-performing team helps independent advisors and RIAs by providing trustee services to their clients.  Through our delegated model The Private Trust Company enables LPL Advisors to maintain investment management and relationship management responsibilities.

We are looking for an experienced and engaging trust professional who is passionate about helping LPL Advisors provide trustee services to their clients, including High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth relationships.  This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional experience while supporting LPL Advisor inquiries and advancing new trustee opportunities through our acceptance process and into onboarding. This role will be a key contributor to LPL advisor satisfaction and PTC's ability to generate repeat business. 

Responsibilities:

  • Trustee Case Consultant: Serve as the lead consultant with LPL Advisors when they present new cases to PTC for trustee and/or settlement services.  Exhibit thorough knowledge of both trust administration and settlement services.  Analyze and interpret relevant legal documents and asset statements.  Including wills, trusts, agreements, entity documents, investment statements, and special asset information in relation to the clients’ trust(s) and/or estate.  Summarize and prepare new cases for legal and acceptance reviews.  Including, mentoring and coaching trust specialists to assist you in preparing summaries, document management and communication with advisors, trustees, attorneys and beneficiaries. 
  • Relationship Management and Client Service:  Manage financial advisor and client experience while providing service and support for moderately complex to complex trustee cases.  Identify client needs, address client concerns, resolve issues (with guidance from senior officers where appropriate) and respond to client inquiries while keeping relevant parties involved.  Effectively communicate with financial advisors, external partners and colleagues throughout all steps of PTC’s trustee acceptance process. 
  • Project Management:  Superior organizational and follow up skills to ensure the new business opportunity pipeline is managed both efficiently and diligently.  Participate in special projects and initiatives, create effective working relationships with colleagues and peers within PTC and across LPL.  Collaborate with colleagues and associates to enhance best practices, engage appropriate resources and foster strong team dynamics.  
  • PTC Brand Ambassador:  Represent PTC in business development efforts with internal partners at LPL and with LPL Advisors.

Other Duties:

  • Participating in LPL advisor and client meetings as needed
  • Preparation of special reports, spreadsheets and correspondence, as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five years’ experience in trustee services, preferably with a broker-dealer or in a traditional bank/trust company.  Knowledge of financial planning, philanthropic planning and fiduciary law.
  • Experience working with high net worth (HNW) clients
  • Will have a proven ability to successfully handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a quality-first, team-oriented environment
  • Strong use of Microsoft Office

Core Competencies:

  • Verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals

Preferences:

  • CTFA, CFP or ChFC

 

Pay Range:

$88,580.00 - $147,599.00
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
