Summary:

The AVP, Research Operations serves as a key operational leader supporting the Chief Research Officer (CRO) in advancing the pediatric research enterprise. This role is responsible for overseeing research operations and infrastructure to ensure efficiency, scalability, and alignment with system-wide priorities. The AVP drives execution of enterprise initiatives, identifies and resolves operational bottlenecks, and implements standardized processes that enhance research quality, throughput, and overall performance.

Acting as a strategic partner, the AVP collaborates with research, clinical, and administrative leaders to develop and operationalize growth strategies, integrate financial and regulatory functions, and strengthen research support systems. This role focuses on translating strategic priorities into actionable plans, optimizing resources, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across the research portfolio. The AVP also supports policy development, fosters cross-functional alignment, and builds partnerships that expand institutional research capabilities and impact.

Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare administration, health system operations, or research administration.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-service-line portfolios, cross-functional teams, and operational improvement initiatives. Substantive familiarity with clinical or translational research environments is required.

Education

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, clinical research, or related field is required.
