Purpose of Job
- This position will have overall responsibility for a global quality management system of e.l.f. to ensure product integrity from from design, purchasing, manufacturing, through distribution. This includes developing and improving a comprehensive & effective quality system with associated processes and tools to deliver products of high quality and in compliance with in-market regulations, safety, and product performance. He / She will cultivate a data driven culture across business and use process capability to drive quality improvements alongside strong partnership with R&D, Regulatory, and Operations, internally as well as suppliers externally, to deliver a cohesive and holistic approach to quality. This role will be the focal point for all the product quality matters and will implement integrated quality systems,continuous improvement projects, and consumer feedback program across a broad network of entire end to end business process for all brands at e.l.f. beauty
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- 1. Quality process and system
- Develop and improve a quality management system covering the entire product process to ensure customer and consumer satisfaction on product quality through the end-to-end processes
- Direct and implement strategic initiatives for continuous improvement opportunities focused on delivering consistently high-quality products that meet specifications and regulations with cost and speed efficiency
- Work closely with R&D and Regulalatory functions to ensure design to quality through new product development process and on-going compliance with in-market regulations
- Lead the identification, risk assessment, and resolving product quality issues with root cause analysis and corrective & preventative actions to avoid reoccurrence.
- Implementation of proper quality tools including lean methodologies to products and manufacturing processes.
- Drive continuous improvement programs and establishment of common standards across all the external manufacturers
- Build the culture of data driven decision making and maximize the power of process capability to bring quality and business value.
- Partnership with the Regulatory Affairs to ensure consistency across the company, fast resolution of issues identified by consumers or customers and regulatory compliance
- Implement Global Quality program to ensure processes and procedures are adapted to global application and local customization as needed
- 2. Strategy and Leadership
- Champion the Quality vision and strategy and influence senior management as well as external suppliers and distributors to align to specific strategic priorities and executional choices。
- Lead the One Team, Global Quality collaboration with key leaders to drive a global mindset on product and process across the company
- Responsible for managing performance of team members to ensure personal and organization objectives are achieved.
- Lean existing quality process to gradually increase execution speed, quality and compliance.
- Coach and lead team members for related knowledge and other competencies. Build an HPT culture.
- Lead cross-functional teams to conduct special assignments. Improve quality operations by lean initiatives
Education/Knowledge/Experience
- The minimum request:
- Bachelor Degree or above. 15 + years’ experience in relevant area of FMCG industry with at least 10 years managerial experience, Experience in Beauty or Personal Care is a plus.
- Demonstrable previous experience in leading Quality for categories and Brands.
- Strong oral and written communication in both English and Mandarin.
- SPC Practitioner.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Above is a plus.
- Relevant skills and experience:
- Ability to lead work with a network of external manufacturers globally
- International understanding and flexibility to work across locations and time zones
- Experience of guiding teams and working with ambiguity
- Strong people, influencing and relationship skills – especially across cultures, to influence senior management and motivational leadership combined with scientific background, quality experience and credibility
- Ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth company. Very strong appetite for exploring new ideas and innovating with strong experience on Quality matters
- Tenacious with a strong desire to lead and partner across functions. Capable of building strong working relationships and motivating teams to deliver outstanding results with or without hierarchical relationships
