The Role

One of the best-known names in cruising, Princess is the world’s leading international premium cruise line and tour company, carrying millions of guests each year to hundreds of destinations around the globe. We are looking for an amazing AVP Product Development to fill this role, which is based in our Doral office. Leads the development of the brand’s guest experience strategy to inform how we plan and execute our fleet modernization efforts to improve profitability, guest satisfaction, and overall marketability. Identify, prioritize, and develop the initial concepts/frameworks across our guest experience to elevate and sharpen our position in the market. The work will also identify the signature that serve as the foundation for the brand’s position in the marketplace. To accomplish this goal, the role will partner closely with Brand President, SVP Hotel Operations, SVP Food & Beverage, Head of Commercial and VP Finance, to build comprehensive plans based on what our key customer segments both current and future, value most, as well as the investments that best support our brand positioning and growth strategies. Additionally, the role will help identify the external partners across culinary, youth/entertainment, design, programming, and technology to add IP, know-how and excitement to the offering.

Responsibilities

  • Program Planning and Strategy:

    • Develop and implement a world-class product development process to identify the critical investments and workstreams to elevate the guest experience and increase profitability and satisfaction across fleet modernization, destination development, and ultimately new builds. This role will lead the creation of this team, as well as identify outside partners to provide inspiration and expertise.

  • Project Management:

    • Leveraging the newly crafted process, craft the short- and long-term road map, inclusive of investment requirements, phasing and timelines, operational considerations, external support, and partnerships                                                      

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Identify the resources and capabilities needed to develop the function and effectively partner across Operations, Deployment, Finance, and other teams / groups within the organization. Develop and lead cross-functional teams of forward focused critical thinkers that embrace a culture of collaboration, innovation, and flawless execution.

  • Data-Driven Insights and Analysis:

    • Evangelize voice of the customer, segmentation, and data-driven decisioning with respect to designing, implementing, and optimizing critical aspects and investments across the guest experience                                                                              

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in product, business management, design, and/or other relevant discipline related to the requirements of the position.  MBA or advanced degree preferred. 

  • 15+ years industry related experience and/or equivalent experiences (product, design, etc.) in other adjacent industries.

  • Minimum of 10+ years leading, hiring, and managing high caliber professionals.

  • Ability to work across a wide range of stakeholders and subject matter experts in a highly complex and dynamic environment                                          

  • Strong communications, ability to present confidently to senior leadership and cross functionals.

  • Able to synthesize results into concise written findings, create presentations, and communicate the strategic implications. 

  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fast-paced culture. 

  • Strong creative, design, and critical thinking skills

  • Proven track record of success in a comparable position with a highly visible, prestigious, highly complex, and forward-thinking organization 

  • Must possess knowledge of the hospitality industry, current market trends, and economic factors; preferably within an international organization and accustomed to working with a highly diverse and remote work group

  • Strong ability to interact and collaborate with senior management team and build effective relationships within the company as well as with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and listening skills, including the ability to adjust style to successfully implement ideas across the business/ships and effectively interact with external and internal channels.

  • Highly analytical with proven success in problem identification and implementation of timely and cost-effective solutions that meet company objectives. Proven skills in financial analysis, business modeling and return on investment analysis.

  • Ability to frequently update senior executive leadership (including Board of Directors) in both written communication and presentations.

  • Must exemplify the highest standards of honesty, integrity and discretion.

  • Detail-oriented person who can tackle multiple projects and complex assignments

  • Ability to lead multiple teams effectively across multiple disciplines and levels of experience

  • This position is considered Hybrid and follows the Company’s schedule of four days in the office per week, Monday through Thursday, effective June 15.
