Role Summary/Purpose:
Deliver accurate, timely portfolio reporting and analytics to support oversight of material credit risks across Synchrony. This role primarily leverages SAS, SQL, and Excel, reports to the Vice President, Portfolio Credit Monitoring and Analytics, and sits within Credit Risk Management Oversight under the Risk Division.
Essential Responsibilities:
Execute, prepare, and analyze credit performance reports on delinquency, asset quality, and emerging credit and economic trends
Create credit analytics to support responses to regulatory and internal audit requests
Manage deep dive and ad-hoc analytical projects
Prepare and validate data utilized in SYF’s monthly credit risk review
Monitor and report credit risk appetite metrics as part of the enhanced monitoring plan
Update and maintain the Credit Risk Appetite methodology document and team job aides
Serve as a key analytical resources to other cross-team initiatives
Research and explain the drivers behind emerging data trends
Work with peers in Credit and Underwing to understand emerging credit risks
Stay up to date on SYF’s key credit metrics and how they compare to the Credit Card Industry’s
Understand credit reporting infrastructure and data nuances
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience in risk analytics within the Credit Card Industry or; 6+ years’ experience in a credit risk analytics role in a regulated bank or financial institution
2+ years with SAS/SQL or other transferable logic based programming in a regulated bank or financial institution
3+ years of advanced Excel experience in a regulated bank or financial institution
Project management experience in a regulated bank or financial institution
Ability to extract, analyze, and interpret high volume data sets and present to key stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

The salary range for this position is 115,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
