Role Summary:

As the AVP, Network Transformation, you will oversee the implementation of very complex and unconventional technology or delivery systems for the supply chain at Saks Global. Involving the management of multiple projects simultaneously, you are responsible for the financial performance of projects of considerable magnitude, risk, and impact to our company.

In this position, you will be responsible for significant company-wide projects, typically with large budgets and sizable staff, & will be focused on meeting project commitments. This includes communications with sponsors, stakeholders, etc. and being able to contribute to strategic decision making or operational insights. You will spend the majority of time on project management/integration responsibilities while leading the design, testing, planning, and implementation of complex projects for distribution/fulfillment centers and systems that typically affect many users.


Key Qualifications: 

  • At least 10 years of directly-applicable Project Management experience in large-scale, high-impact supply chain & distribution center initiatives (project budgets of at least $1MM - $60MM CAPEX)

  • At least 10 years of experience being responsible for numerous successful projects (delivered on-time, meeting client requirements, with high team satisfaction) involving a large number of project staff and clients

  • Fully comfortable and experienced with presenting oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.

  • Ability to build, foster, and manage productive relationships with executive-level sponsors.

  • Passionate about promoting a diverse work environment through education, training, and professional development opportunities within the department.

  • Expertise of financial and accounting principles to understand and communicate how decisions affect the bottom line for a project.

  • High level functional & technical expertise in supply chain / distribution center initiatives including multiple areas with high levels of complexity. (Ex., must be able to interpret and analyze CAD files) 

Role Description:

  • Responsibility for engineering, construction management, project controls and inspection staff supervision and quality control.

  • Lead planning and/or implementation of projects. 

  • Participates in the design and leads the testing phases. 

  • Facilitates the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements; resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; develop methods to monitor project or area progress; and provide corrective supervision if necessary.

  • Responsibility for assembling the project staff; for their technical or functional development, performance, and/or termination during the project or projects. 

  • Managing project budget and resource allocation.

  • Value engineering to reduce project costs. 

  • Leading aspects of organizational change by identifying opportunities for business process improvements within project scope, and acting as a champion for business process changes.
