Job Summary
Responsible for the leading, directing and supporting of clinical and nonclinical personnel for all aspects of Life Flight to include, but not limited to Life Flight medical operations, Life Flight aviation, Life Flight education and Mobile Stroke Unit. The leader will ensure the continuance of quality care, safety and outcomes of the world-renowned Life Flight program. Strategic planning for the air ambulance program will include local, state and national engagement to ensure the future of Life Flight operations and optimization of the program for MHHS. Other responsibilities include planning and controlling operational budgets.Highly preferred skills include:
• Recent experience within an air medical program, preferably a CAMTS certified program.
• Recent leadership experience within an air medical program
• Deep understanding of the air medical market, including local, state, and national dynamics as it relates to changing market factors and legislation regarding reimbursement.
• Deep understanding and experience in a Part 135 air medical program.Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in related field required; Master's Degree preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Certification in area of specialty or eligible for certification preferred
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Twelve (12) years of healthcare experience and a minimum of seven (7) years management experience required

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, safety, technical, and quality aspects of the day-to-day operations in Life Flight.
Assists in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the department.
Responsibility for the maintenance of all accreditations, licensing, and certifications including data collection, guideline development, and timely submission of expected documents.
Partners closely with MHHS facilities, service line leaders, and external partners to execute on strategies and hardwire programmatic initiatives.
Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems to assess and continuously improve the quality of programs throughout the Memorial Hermann facilities. Ensures achievement of corporate targets and goals with respect to customer opinion and services.
Provides innovative ideas and a disciplined management approach toward the achievement of Memorial Hermann financial objectives. Provides the conceptual and analytical information to illustrate how the financial investment in development supports the organizational objectives.
Ensures quality assurance and continuous quality improvement measures are developed and implemented.
Facilitates a positive work environment and acts as a coach and mentor.
Acts as a Liaison across departments and organizations engaged in the delivery of services.
Ensures positive employee relations and the development of a competent, positive, and motivated work force.
Develops and executes plans to enhance the reputation and image of Memorial Hermann through community, healthcare, and professional organizations, as well as public relations activities as appropriate.
Assures that revenue, expenses, contribution margin and FTE’s meet or exceed budget; prepares and submits budget and related reports; forecasts and accurately projects expenses; takes corrective action to address negative variances; identifies and proposes capital budget items appropriately.
Adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
Ensures the Director of Aviation is accountable for the comprehensive delivery of aviation services across the organization. The Director of Aviation is the content expert of the Operations Manual, FARs, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, etc., and other instructions pertinent to aviation operations.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
