You will be responsible for the following:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Does (The tasks / responsibilities that the role performs to address requirements in Key Result Areas)
● Strategic Support: Providing financial insights and recommendations to support the company's strategic initiatives and growth plans
● Financial Reporting: The Comptroller is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements,including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. For this, the Role leverages the shared services accounting team from Mynt, but is accountable for timely preparation and presentation of financial reports.
● Budgeting and Forecasting: The Comptroller works with other departments to develop and manage the company's financial budgets and forecasts.
● Budget Management and Expense Control: The Role also manages spending to ensure that expenditures are sound, business cases are well-prepared and positive, and expense processes and guidelines are complied with and met.
● Internal Controls: The Comptroller establishes and maintains internal control systems to safeguard the company's assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
● Compliance: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
● Audit Coordination: Coordinating with external auditors during the annual financial audit and addressing audit findings and recommendations, in order to obtain an unqualified audit opinion from external auditors.

● Leadership and Collaboration: As a senior position, the Comptrollership Head should have excellent leadership and collaboration skills. This includes the ability to provide guidance to and work closely with not just team members but also to colleagues across different departments.
● Analytical Skills and Experience: What do the numbers mean? What issues should we think about? The Comptrollership Head should be able to draw patterns and insights from numbers in order to surface the underlying stories and concerns.
● Knowledge of Financial Systems: Familiarity with financial systems and software used for accounting, financial reporting, and data analysis is crucial for streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency.
● Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: The Comptrollership Head should be well-versed in accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements to ensure the organization remains compliant
● Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex financial information and build rapport with stakeholders.
● Integrity and Professionalism: High ethical standards, respecting confidentiality while adhering to regulatory compliance requirements.
● Experience working in a very fast pace environment, startups or financial institutions, especially fintech, banks, and lending companies, MNCs or FMCGs would be strongly preferred.
● Be able to connect the dots and handle, decipher and navigate ambiguous situations/scenarios.
● An entrepreneurial spirit and a strong sense of initiative are necessary for success
