This role owns the global strategy and execution for campus recruiting, university relations, internships and co‑ops, early‑career and mid‑career rotational programs, and the global framework that enables talent to gain meaningful experiences across countries, cultures, and business lines. The AVP will partner closely with senior business leaders, HRBPs, Talent Management, and Workforce Planning to build a sustainable, future‑ready global talent pipeline.

This position can be based in Newport Beach, CA or Charlotte, NC. This position is onsite four days a week.

How you will make an impact:

  • Partner with Strategic Workforce Planning, HRBPs, and the Talent Management COE to anticipate future capabilities and build scalable early‑career pipelines.
  • Position early‑career and rotational programs as a core contributor to leadership development and internal mobility.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives on early‑career talent trends, market dynamics, and global best practices.

Signature Global Rotational Programs (Early & Mid‑Career)

  • Design and govern global rotational programs that intentionally could include cross‑country assignments, enabling participants to gain cultural fluency, global business perspective, and accelerated development.
  • Define rotational program architecture, including:
    • Eligibility and selection criteria
    • Rotation length, sequence, and timing
    • Individual expectations and learning outcomes
    • Placement and matching processes
  • Manage the full lifecycle of rotations, including selection, onboarding, country placement, in‑rotation support, assessments, and post‑program placement.
  • Ensure alignment between rotational experiences, job architecture, and long‑term career paths.

Campus Recruiting & University Relations (Global)

  • Lead a globally consistent yet locally relevant campus recruiting strategy across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
  • Build and sustain long‑term partnerships with priority universities, professional associations, and diversity‑focused institutions.
  • Oversee employer branding, candidate experience, hiring outcomes, and offer conversion for all early‑career hiring.
  • Ensure internships and co‑op programs serve as strong feeders into full‑time and rotational roles.

Development, Curriculum & Manager Enablement

  • Partner with Talent Management to define core development curriculum for all early‑career and rotational programs.
  • Establish program‑specific learning tied to rotational objectives, including leadership, technical, and global capability development.
  • Clearly define roles and expectations for rotation managers.
  • Deliver training and toolkits for rotation managers focused on coaching, feedback, assessment, and inclusive leadership.
  • Build mentorship and sponsorship structures to support participant success and long‑term retention.

Program Analytics & Governance

  • Define and track program KPIs, including hiring outcomes, rotation effectiveness, development progress, participant and manager experience, and retention.
  • Lead program governance forums with business stakeholders and steering committees.
  • Use data‑driven insights to continuously improve program design, scalability, and impact.

External Representation & Community Engagement

  • Represent Pacific Life externally with universities, industry groups, and early‑career communities.
  • Partner with Public Affairs and community organizations to align early‑career programs with broader community engagement and outreach efforts.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a global early‑careers and mobility team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capabilities that enable sustainable global program growth.

The experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in early‑career recruiting, talent acquisition, talent management, or leadership development.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading global teams and programs in a matrixed organization.
  • Proven experience designing, launching, and governing global rotational programs, including cross‑country rotations.
  • Deep expertise in campus recruiting, university relations, and internship‑to‑full‑time conversion.
  • Understanding of global mobility, compensation frameworks, and regulatory considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and operate effectively across regions and cultures.

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience building high‑impact early‑career or leadership development programs with international rotations.
