Organizational Overview:
Synchrony's Risk Team provides independent oversight of Synchrony’s risk-taking activities to ensure safety and soundness, meet regulatory and legal requirements, and manage risks to the risk-appetite of the Board. Risk is responsible for independently assessing, quantifying, and overseeing risks & providing effective challenge. Risk serves as Synchrony’s Second Line of Defense.
Overall, Risk Team oversees and manages the Risk Program to support the business in anticipating and addressing risks, issues and challenges. Results are consistent with the respective strategic uses and complying with related overall risk, risk testing policies, standards, procedures as well as regulations. Our Risk organization consists of 4 pillars: Compliance, Credit & Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk. Each of the pillars play a vital role in managing Risk and supports the business in anticipating and addressing risks, issues, and challenges.
Role Summary/Purpose:
The AVP, Enterprise Risk Analytics (L10), will be responsible for supporting Risk transformation by expanding analytics from reactive data handling to the delivery of proactive analytics solutions, scaled Committee reporting, and repeatable automation across Risk and Compliance. This is an individual contributor role requiring senior technical ownership to design, build, and maintain analytics and reporting solutions using SAS/Python and Tableau, while working directly with senior stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end outcomes. This role will report directly to the VP, Enterprise Risk Analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver enterprise risk analytics solutions by translating stakeholder needs into analytical outputs and reporting deliverables for Risk and Compliance.
Work directly with senior stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver analytics/reporting projects end-to-end (reduced dependency on VP for stakeholder interactions).
Own Committee report generation, including streamlining and maintaining reporting as Risk streamlines its committee infrastructure.
Design, build, execute, and maintain Tableau visual analytics assets (automated Tableau databases/dashboards) supporting Committee reporting.
Provide technical ownership to design and industrialize repeatable analytics and reporting solutions, beyond routine execution of analysis requests.
Build and maintain end-to-end pipelines leveraging Python/SAS/Tableau where automation enables scale and sustainability (vs. manual extraction and repetitive runs).
Operate with complete technical autonomy to troubleshoot, test, and launch code and dashboards.
Support scaled delivery for growing analytics and reporting demand across Risk and Compliance, accelerating time-to-insight by standardizing/automating repeatable outputs.
(Desired) Contribute to AI capability-building, including AI-assisted code development and partnering with tech/governance teams to support deployment/implementation of internal generative AI capabilities/tools.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in a consumer credit/risk analytics role; OR, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 7+ years’ experience in consumer credit/risk analytics role
4+ years’ hands-on experience with one or more data analytics tools including Python, SAS and SQL
3+ years’ hands-on experience with visual analytics tool like Tableau
Experience in automation in command line environment / SAS / Python
Strong written/oral communication skills
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
AI-assisted code development will be advantageous
Exposure to developing/deploying or supporting internal generative AI capabilities and production tools with tech/governance teams.
Hands-on experience building, deploying, or operating analytics/reporting solutions in cloud based environment like AWS
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, organize work flow and timelines.

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in a consumer credit/risk analytics role; OR, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 7+ years’ experience in consumer credit/risk analytics role
Work Timings: 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST
