Summary Generated by Built In

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.

About the Team:

The Avionics Test & Operations team is responsible for testing avionics hardware and systems across the entire product lifecycle of Terran R: component-, subsystem-, and vehicle-level. As an Avionics Senior RF Test Engineer at Relativity Space, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing avionics testing strategies for our RF and telemetry rocket systems. This includes working closely with the RF avionics design team to identify and troubleshoot any issues and developing automation and testing infrastructure to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

About the Role:

  •  Assembling wire harnesses in accordance with detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and aerospace industry standards
  •  Conducting inspections, continuity checks, and hipot tests to validate the integrity and performance of wire harness assemblies
  •  Performing rework and repairs including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, connectorization, and troubleshooting based on schematics
  •  Building and wiring functional test racks using schematics and technical documentation to support harness validation and system-level testing
  •  Documenting all work performed, including discrepancies and corrective actions, while staying current with wire harnessing technologies and best practices

About You:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a harnessing technician, specializing in application-critical, high-complexity wiring systems, with strong proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics
  • Ability to conduct thorough inspections, continuity checks, and hipot tests to ensure the integrity and functionality of wire harness assemblies, applying schematic knowledge to troubleshoot and validate circuits
  • Ability to perform rework and repairs on wire harnesses, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and connectorization, guided by detailed wiring diagrams and technical documentation
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, ensuring efficiency in handling materials and assemblies, and proficient in distinguishing colors for accurate wire identification and termination

Nice to haves but not required:

  • An associate degree or higher in electronics, avionics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a soldering technician working on high-complexity, mission-critical PCBAs, preferably within the aerospace industry
  • Current or previous certification in IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or similar industry standards, reflecting advanced soldering skills and commitment to quality
  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure aerospace environment, consistently meeting rigorous performance and quality standards
