Job Summary: The AV Systems Programmer will be involved in the planning, development, deployment and maintenance of software systems for AV control, monitoring and processing applications. The primary role of this individual will be the development of user interfaces, software files and custom code to achieve the programmatic requirements of the AV system. While knowledge of several platforms is preferred, this position is expected to be focused heavily on Q-SYS based systems.
This position is expected to be involved in the complete life cycle of projects and be heavily focused on the deployment of software solutions at the client’s site. Individual in this position will be expected to be willing to travel to client locations with up to 35% travel, mostly to locations in NYC and Washington DC, but possibly anywhere in the US.
This position is outward facing and requires someone that is passionate about AV and technology and has a deep focus on customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Programming, deployment and tuning of Audio DSP software files with primary focus on large Q-SYS systems. Programming, deployment and debugging of AV control software systems using scripting and other tools primarily within the Q-SYS environment. Experience with LUA and/or Python is a plus.
- Development of AV User Interfaces using primary the Q-SYS Designer platform.
- Review and interpretation of AV system design documentation (drawings, specifications, functional narratives and equipment lists).
Qualifications and Experience:
- This role will require close interaction with our clients and as such, excellent interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
- Knowledge and experience with Biamp, BSS, Symmetrix or similar systems is a plus.
- Experience with UI development for AMX, Crestron, Extron or other platforms is a plus. A background in AV technology and a willingness to learn.
- If not currently, the employee must become AVIXA CTS certified within a year of employment.
- Experience with Python or LUA programming is a plus.
- Prior experience with Q-SYS systems is preferred. Additional experience with Crestron, AMX or Extron systems is a plus.
- Experience in the development of plugins, modules, standard code tools, and/or enterprise programming code blocks preferred.

Travel: Up to 10 - 35%
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $85,000 - $115,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
