What You Will Do:
As an AV Quality Assurance & Rack Fabricator, the role reviews project designs to ensure systems are field ready prior to installation. Responsibilities include building and QA of equipment racks, supporting installers and customers, and working with Design Engineers to confirm drawings, documentation, and system performance. The role handles troubleshooting, firmware and system code loading, commissioning support, and configuration verification. Project closeout includes testing, red-line drawings, issue communication with the Project Manager, maintaining the QA and rack fabrication area, and supporting team training as needed.
🛠️ Project Readiness & Technical Quality Assurance
Review project designs and documentation to identify gaps before installation
Work with Design Engineers to confirm drawings, schematics, and system requirements
Ensure technical aspects align with project specifications and standards
Perform system commissioning, testing, and configuration verification
Load firmware, DSP programs, and control system code as required
🔧 Rack Fabrication & Installation Support
Build and assemble AV racks per work order and project documentation
Inspect and QA all racks before deployment and after installation
Support installation technicians and field engineers with troubleshooting
Address system functionality issues and coordinate redesigns when needed
Maintain order and organization of the QA and rack fabrication area
📋 Project Closeout, Collaboration & Development
Complete closeout tasks including testing, photos, and red-line drawings
Communicate issues, risks, and status updates to the Project Manager
Support vendor coordination on product updates and technical issues
Assist with training internal technical or sales staff on new products
Participate in ongoing development to stay current with AV technologies
What We Are Looking For:
5+ years of AV experience or equivalent technical knowledge
CTS certification or ability to obtain within 4 months of hire
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD elevations, and system schematics
Experience with rack fabrication, structured cabling, and QA of AV systems
Proficiency loading firmware, DSP programs, and AV control system code
Strong troubleshooting skills across systems with and without control or audio DSP
Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to travel as required
