Leveraging a cloud-based infrastructure, TaskUs serves clients in the fastest-growing sectors, including social media, e-commerce, gaming, streaming media, food delivery, ride-sharing, HiTech, FinTech, and HealthTech.

The People First culture at TaskUs has enabled the company to expand its workforce to approximately 45,000 employees globally. Presently, we have a presence in twenty-three locations across twelve countries, which include the Philippines, India, and the United States.

It started with one ridiculously good idea to create a different breed of Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO)! We at TaskUs understand that achieving growth for our partners requires a culture of constant motion, exploring new technologies, being ready to handle any challenge at a moment’s notice, and mastering consistency in an ever-changing world.

What We Offer: At TaskUs, we prioritize our employees' well-being by offering competitive industry salaries and comprehensive benefits packages. Our commitment to a People First culture is reflected in the various departments we have established, including Total Rewards, Wellness, HR, and Diversity. We take pride in our inclusive environment and positive impact on the community. Moreover, we actively encourage internal mobility and professional growth at all stages of an employee's career within TaskUs. Join our team today and experience firsthand our dedication to supporting People First.

We are seeking a professional, tech-savvy CDL Class A Driver to join our autonomous trucking division. In this role, you aren’t just driving; you are overseeing the deployment of cutting-edge self-driving technology. You will be responsible for the safe operation of Class A commercial vehicles equipped with autonomous systems during long-haul missions.

This position requires 100% travel and a flexible mindset, as operations run 24/7/365 to mirror real-world freight demands. You will rotate through day and night shifts, ensuring our systems perform reliably in all lighting and traffic conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • System Supervision: Monitor autonomous driving systems (ADS) while the vehicle is in motion, prepared to take manual control instantly if the system encounters a "disengagement" scenario.

  • Safety Operations: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring both the mechanical integrity of the truck and the cleanliness/calibration of sensors (Lidar, Radar, Cameras).

  • Data Logging: Provide detailed verbal and written feedback to engineering teams regarding system behavior, edge cases, and "comfort" maneuvers.

  • Logistics Management: Manage routes, fuel stops, and inspections via Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) in strict Steiner compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.

  • Dynamic Scheduling: Operate on a sliding schedule that includes overnight hauls, weekends, and holidays to ensure continuous data collection.

Safety & Defensive Driving

  • Active Monitoring: Maintain continuous situational awareness, acting as a redundant safety layer for the Autonomous Driving System (ADS) in complex environments like construction zones or heavy merging.

  • Proactive Intervention: Expertly identify edge cases (e.g., erratic behavior from other motorists, debris, or poor weather) and take manual control before the system reaches its operational limit.

  • Space Management: Ensure the vehicle maintains a safe "cushion" and follow-distance, overriding the system if necessary to adhere to the "150-foot minimum" rule for heavy-duty CMVs.

  • Shift Vigilance: Adhere to strict fatigue management protocols, ensuring high alertness during night shifts when biological rhythms are naturally lower.

DOT Regulations & Compliance

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with FMCSA Part 395 and state-specific AV regulations (including recent updates like California’s heavy-duty driverless testing permits).

  • Law Enforcement Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for DOT roadside inspections and weigh station stops, explaining the autonomous system's status to officials if requested.

  • Incident Reporting: Assist in the mandatory documentation and reporting of any "disengagements" or system anomalies as required by federal and state oversight bodies

Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections

  • Mechanical Verification: Conduct standard "Circle Checks" of tires (tread/pressure), brakes (lines/drums), lighting (high/low beams, signals), and coupling (fifth-wheel lock).

  • Sensor & Hardware Audit: Perform specialized inspections of the AV stack—ensuring Lidar, Radar, and Camera lenses are clean, unobstructed, and securely mounted.

  • Fluid & Leak Check: Use the CBD (Cracks, Bends, Dents) and ABC (Abrasions, Bulges, Cuts) methods to inspect engine hoses, steering components, and suspension.

  • In-Cab Systems: Test all onboard computer monitors, emergency override buttons, and two-way communication links to the remote operations center.

ELD & Logging Requirements

  • Digital Documentation: Utilize Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) to automatically and manually record Hours of Service (HOS), ensuring 100% accuracy in "On-Duty" vs. "Driving" status.

  • System Hand-Off Tracking: Log specific timestamps when control transitions from the Autonomous System to the Human Driver (and vice-versa) for engineering data audits.

  • RODS Management: Maintain Records of Duty Status (RODS) and ensure all supporting documentation (fuel receipts, tolls) is submitted within the 13-day federal window.

  • Inspection Readiness: Ensure the ELD is capable of seamless data transfer (USB or Bluetooth) to law enforcement during any roadside safety audit.

Key Requirements:

  • Licensing: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

  • Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of over-the-road (OTR) experience operating Class A tractor-trailers.

  • Tech Literacy: Ability to use tablets, proprietary software, and diagnostic tools. You should be comfortable "troubleshooting" basic software prompts.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to be away from home 100% of the time (typical rotations are 3–4 weeks out, 1 week home).

  • Vigilance: Ability to maintain high levels of focus during long periods of autonomous operation where manual input is minimal.

Preferred Skills & Traits
  • Experience in safety-critical roles

  • Strong communication skills (you will be the "eyes and ears" for software engineers).

  • A "Safety First" mentality—prioritizing the public's well-being over meeting a delivery ETA.
