The Support / Assistant Operator job profile is a supportive role in an operational / execution environment, focussing on manual, repetitive work or assists other operational roles, in order to support the production process and/or enable more senior operational roles to be more productive.
The Support / Assistant Operator supports the (production) process by performing relatively simple tasks, associated with high volume / repetitive work streams.
The knowledge required for the tasks can be generally acquired through a short explanation / instruction. If the Support / Assistant Operator has a specific (set of) tasks, the activities are governed by very detailed and precisely formulated instructions, with assistance present or readily available. Activities are performed at routine levels. If the Support / Assistant Operator works closely with more senior colleagues, supporting them in their work, he / she focuses on the simple, supportive activities, also working under very explicit and close supervision. Job Description:
Operational activities:
o Performs various manual operational activities and/or operates basic machinery / tools
o Performs basic checks and controls on materials, like checking weights, size, visual checks etc. Signals deviations with supervisor
Good housekeeping:
o Cleans all equipment and work environment
Communication:
o Discusses work with colleagues and supervisor
o Provides information when asked, follows-up instructions and guidance from colleagues and supervisor
Compliance:
o Works in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures, as well as technical standards
o Signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations
