Automation Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Test Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts while serving as a client-facing representative during project discussions. This role requires active participation in Agile ceremonies, analysis of test results, defect management, and execution of manual testing when automation coverage is unavailable or automation execution fails.

Responsibilities

          Automation Testing

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web, API, and application testing.
• Create and maintain automation test suites to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Perform script maintenance and establish automation maintenance plans to support evolving application functionality.

• Execute automated test runs and analyze test execution results.

  Testing & Quality Assurance

• Perform manual testing when automation is unavailable or test scripts fail.
• Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
• Conduct root cause analysis of defects and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

• Validate fixes and perform regression testing as required.

  Reporting & Analysis

• Analyze automation execution outcomes and provide actionable insights.
• Prepare and present defect analysis reports, trend reports, and quality metrics.
• Monitor and communicate testing progress, risks, and quality status to stakeholders.

• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of test processes and automation frameworks.

  Client & Agile Engagement

• Act as a client-facing QA representative and communicate testing activities effectively with stakeholders.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, and clients to understand requirements and ensure quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in automation testing and test execution.
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients.
• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
• Experience testing APIs and web applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of reporting and dashboard tools for quality metrics.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $45864 to $101,520. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
