The purpose of this position is to provide technical support in the troubleshooting of electrical and control systems and machinery throughout the facility. Design, modify, and upgrade electrical control systems. Additionally, assist in the development of electrical skills in our maintenance department inclusive of maintaining documentation as directed. Perform other tasks as directed.
Essential Duties:
- Support all maintenance and capital electrical projects as directed including supervision of electrical specialty mechanics.
- Review and approve electrical schematics changes and updates made under your direction providing this information to engineering.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice policies and procedures in areas of own responsibility.
- Provide ongoing training and enforcement as appropriate.
- Assist in developing and updating an electrical PM program.
- Review current machine PM schedules and steps and suggest changes as needed to encompass electrical devices and cleaning procedures.
- Assist in the standardization of controls throughout the production areas.
- Engage local vendors to ensure we are utilizing the best devices and that we are standardizing machinery for common parts.
- Analyze electrical processes and methods; recommend and implement changes and new programs that improve costs.
- Administer the practical exams for mechanics seeking to gain electrical specialty skills.
Qualifications:
- Total Yrs. of Experience: 5 to 7 years
- Associate's degree in electrical-related studies or 5 years experience.
- PC Literacy.
- Electrical power, control, and PCL diagnostic skills.
- Must have good organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must have good problem-solving skills.
- Critical and forward-thinking is important.
Work Environment:
- Must have the ability to sit and walk for extended periods daily.
- Must utilize all senses as normal.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to accommodate a quick-paced environment.
