JOB SUMMARY
Our Automation and Controls Specialists are instrumental in building long-term customer relationships, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customers’ building systems. They will develop, build, test, and commission building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop, build, test, and commission building controls systems to include programming equipment, condenser water plant sequence of operations, and modifications to the graphical interface.
· Participate in controls engineering review and provide input on design to identify gaps in sequence operability.
· Leverage Niagara software tools such as the program service, BQL, and service suite to optimize productivity.
· Perform in-depth hardware troubleshooting techniques such as accessing defective hardware CLI through a serial connection.
· Perform BAS service and maintenance, including diagnosing and repairing control system malfunctions.
· Respond to BAS emergencies during off hours.
· Prepare documentation and reports of work status and completion.
· Must complete Pathway and pass performance checkout, as well as hold role for a minimum of 12 months until you can progress to Automation Specialist 3
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
· At least 2 years of experience with 2 or more BAS controls platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Trane, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, or Distech.
· At least 1 year of experience in developing, building, testing, and commissioning complete building controls systems including the graphical interface, from the ground up.
· Working knowledge of the installation, operation, and repair of commercial HVAC and control equipment.
· Working knowledge of electrical circuits and systems.
· High school diploma or GED.
· Tridium Niagara 4 Certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Ability to apply automation solutions and troubleshoot complex problems on automated equipment that is new and existing.
· Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network, and wiring schematics, drawings, and diagrams.
· Ability to manage professional email communications.
· Ability to manage and maintain a calendar and task management system.
· Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude, always, when interacting with customers and co-workers.
· Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and punctuality.

· Bachelor’s degree in related field.
· Distech GFX Certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
· Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
· Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
· Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 75 pounds and extensive sitting. Some walking and standing.
