The main focus of this role is to promote, maintain and increase the sales of KION’s Automation portfolio, specifically Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). Working closely with the wider KION sales network, this role is home-based but will require significant travel across the UK, including overnight stays as required.We offer:

We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially focused individual with proven success in a sales environment. Experience in automation or solution-based selling is desirable, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
As Automation Sales Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager – Intralogistics Sales, you will be responsible for achieving individual and team sales targets by promoting KION automation solutions to both existing and prospective customers. You will play a key role in developing new business opportunities and driving growth within the automation segment.

Tasks and Qualifications:
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Increasing sales of KION’s AGV and AMR solutions across your designated region
- Working in partnership with Key Account Managers and New Business Managers to identify and develop automation opportunities
- Visiting customer sites to:
- Understand operational requirements
- Develop tailored intralogistics and automation solutions
- Present proposals to stakeholders at all levels
- Managing large tenders through to completion
- Producing detailed proposals, including ROI calculations at both detailed and overview level
- Working closely with Automation Project Engineers, Project Managers and Robotic Application Engineers to ensure optimal technical solutions and smooth project handover
- Promoting automation solutions and supporting flow plan development for customer operations
- Ensuring compliance with internal submission and approval processes prior to customer proposals
- Collaborating with internal functions including Service, Finance, Marketing, Procurement and HQ teams
- Acting as a key subject matter expert in automation and intralogistics solutions
Who are we looking for?
- Proven experience in a direct sales role, ideally within solution-based or technical sales
- Experience or understanding of AGVs, AMRs or automation solutions (desirable)
- Experience in managing large tenders and complex sales cycles
- Understanding of materials handling flows within warehouse operations
- Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels
- Excellent presentation skills, including preparation of proposals and PowerPoint presentations
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
- IT literate, including intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Full UK driving licence
You will need to be commercially driven, customer-focused and able to build strong relationships internally and externally, with the ability to work independently in a field-based role.
