Automation QA Engineer

As an Automation QA Engineer, you'll join our Shared Technology team, working in a cross-functional environment where innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement are part of everyday life.

You will design, build, and maintain automated testing solutions that support critical technology platforms across ING. Working closely with software engineers, product partners, and stakeholders across our global network, you will help ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of the solutions we deliver.

This role offers the opportunity to work with international teams, contribute to testing strategies, and help drive quality engineering practices within a modern Agile environment.

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test solutions across multiple platforms and applications.
• Design and execute API, functional, integration, and performance tests.
• Identify, analyze, and report defects while partnering with development teams to drive timely resolution.
• Contribute to testing strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure quality is built into every stage of the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.
• Support Agile delivery teams through effective test planning, execution, and automation.
• Continuously explore emerging testing tools, technologies, and quality engineering practices.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience with Java and test automation development.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks.
• Strong experience in API testing.
• Experience conducting performance testing and quality assessments.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments and modern engineering practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Passion for quality engineering, automation, and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and modern software delivery practices.
• Exposure to enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
• Experience working with global and geographically dispersed teams.
