The Role
Applied Controls Inc. is a leader in providing quality solutions for our customers in part because of our excellent team of specialists.  We are in search of an Automation Product Specialist to support the sale of a wide range of products which require a high degree of technical expertise.  This role will support our outside salespeople with product knowledge and on the spot guidance during a sales call.  Guide customer selection of industrial controls products based on their wants and requirements.  Provide product selections in reaction to inside sales and customer requests.  Provide technical support during installation and programming to retain customers for the long run.

Goals:
Maintain both technical knowledge and sales knowledge to support proactive joint calls as well as reactive product selection.  Increase sales of secondary lines at customers identified by our outside sales team.  Increase efficiency of outside salespeople by helping them capture a greater breadth of product sales at a given customer.  Maintain customer satisfaction by getting them the right components to solve their needs and use in depth product knowledge to provide exceptional technical support when needed.

Duties, Responsibilities, Expectations:
· Product expertise – Maintain or gain product knowledge in order to identify appropriate product selections for the following product categories: PLCs, HMIs, industrial networking, automation safety components, and industrial enclosures.  Must maintain training certifications as required by key manufactures.
· Internal teamwork skills

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or engineering technology (preferred)
3 years of industry experience (preferred)
